General Information: The Pick Sticks Madden League will make its debut in Madden 20. Our goal is to be realistic as possible. Abusing the CPU, money plays, and stat padding will not be tolerated. We are a fast pace league, that spends a lot of time and effort creating the best experience for our Madden users. We vet, and only accept users who are committed/active with a lot of free time. I understand life comes first and many people are super busy with family/work… so, If this applies to you.. you might want to reconsider joining.

COMMUNICATION RULES/Respect:

  1. Discord App

All members are to communicate through the Discord App. Be respectful, if you have any issues with another user, please reach out to a commish directly and we will handle it privately. Issues involving communication and respect may be grounds for disciplinary action.

GAMEPLAY RULES:

  1. Play Calling

Offensive pass plays should be limited to 4 times a game.

Defense:

On defense we don't have a requirement that you must run man or zone a certain percentage of the time. You are allowed to run different cover 2 or 3 zones back to back as there are several different variations of each type of cover 2 and cover 3.  You shall not to run the same blitzes/play over and over. Back to back blitzing or a specific play should be limited to 4 times per game. Example overstorm Brave out of nickle 2-4-5 should only be called 4 times in one game.

There will be certain situations on defense where you will need to run the same coverage consecutively. Such as inside the 2 minute warning.

In the redzone down near goal line you can run the same defensive plays consecutively but no more than 2 times in a row.

  1. 3 Man Rush

You must rush a minimum of 3 every play. QB spy DOES NOT count as a rusher.

  1. No Playmaker

This is a feature in Madden that the AI cannot properly react to. DO NOT USE IT!

  1. QB scrambling

QB's should always look to throw first and run second (under pressure). Occasional roll outs are fine, but Immediately rolling out to the sidelines, setting your feet, and throwing is forbidden. No QB irl snaps the ball, then immediately sprints towards the sideline. THAT IS NOT SIM!

Its OK to move outside the pocket to prolong the play, as long as you attempt to pass the ball downfield.

-QB's shall not exceed 12 rushes in a game.

  1. 4th Down Rule

- You may go for it - if you are within 5 yards of your opponents goal line.

- You may go for it - if you are past your opponents 45 yard line and it is 4th and 2 or less

- You may go for it - anytime during the 4th quarter, only if you are losing or tied

- You may go for it - anytime during the game, only if you are down by 14 or more points

- In addition to the above, you may go for it at any point in the game on 4th down regardless of your position on the field. LIMIT ONE PER GAME. (This limit is specific to this bullet only)

  1. Goal Line Formations / fg block

Are only permitted inside the redzone & 4th&1 anywhere.

  1. Nano-blitzing/money plays

These are re not allowed. Doing this will lead to appropriate suspensions. There is a difference between a nano blitz and having more blitzers than blockers so pay attention.

  1. Chew Clock

Is only permitted after the 2 minute warning of each half - unless you are winning substantially and your opponent asks you to run out the clock.

  1. CPU Games

Users can choose to play their CPU games or take a FW. If both users are unable to play, then the game will be fairly simmed.

  • For CPU games: If you're up 21+, pull the starters and run the clock out. We're not going to allow individuals to stat pad vs the CPU and abuse XP.

  • QBs should not surpass 400yds passing / 4tds

  • RB should not surpass 120 yards rushing / 3tds

  • WRs should not surpass 150yds receiving / 3 tds

  • Defensive players should not surpass 4 sacks

** If you decide to play the CPU you cannot (Restart) the game. If you lose, you lose. **

  1. Stat Padding / Running Up Score (user vs user)

It is important for users not to abuse stats. For example, Tyreek Hill/John Ross/Hollywood Brown should not have 8+ catches, with 300+ yds receiving a game. Or a RB that has 30+ carries for 200+ yards a game. We understand that there will be games where a player “goes off” and has a spectacular game… that's fine, but it should not happen on a consistent basis.

  1. Player edits

  1. Realistic Subs/Jersey Numbers

- No name changing for existing or Madden generated players.

- All player Numbers should be appropriately assigned by position.(ex. RB’s should not be wearing #5)

  1. Position changes

a)The following position groupings demonstrate valid position changes:

FB/TE

OL

DE/DT

DE/LB

MLB/OLB

CB/FS/SS

Under no circumstance should a safety/DB be placed in a LB position (even if the formation allows it)

- No more than 1 position change per player per year. Exceptions may be requested to a comish (e.g., player injuries)

   b) Superstar/xfactor

At no point shall a superstar or X factor have their position changed.

This will cause their abilities to  change. You may change the depth chart for these players in accordance with above, but may not formally edit them to change their position.

Throughout the season if a SS/XF player changes archetype due to xp training, those players are able to re-roll abilities during the offseason ONLY.  I.e.  your super star cb archetype is "man" but during the season you make his archetype "zone" ... at the end of the season you can make his abilities fit his new archetype.

Under no circumstance can a player re-roll abilities if their archetype has not changed.

  1.  Trades

All trades must be clearly presented to a commissioner for presentation to the trade committee. The trade consists of three permanent users and 2 commissioners on a rotating basis. No commissioner will be able to vote on a trade involving themselves. Minimum 3 votes from the trade committee to pass. Committee decisions are final.

Users: Vikings, bills, Redskins

13-A- Same Season Trades - At any point in the season, if you trade for a player from another team, you are unable to trade that player until the end of the season in the offseason.

13-B- Star player trades - Each team is limited to trade for 1 88 and above SS/xfactor player; and trade for 1 88 and above star player (or 2 star players in lieu of 1 star and 1 SS/xfactor).

13-C- RESERVED

13-D- F/A pickups cannot be traded the

same year they were signed

13-C- Trading for Picks - no user should have more than three 1st round draft picks. It is unrealistic and is not considered “SIM.”

12-D-Maximum Trades Per Season - 5

  1. Free Agency

All teams are allowed to sign 1 F/A during preseason. If a user needs to sign more than 1 F/A to fill position requirements, then they must sign the lowest ovr player(s) at their position(s).

During the regular season, there are no restrictions on the number of players to be picked up from FA.

No player can be cut and then re-signed by the same team in the same season.

  1.  Playbooks -

Users are allowed to create their own playbooks, but are forbidden to download playbooks.

  1. Drafts

Random generated draft classes will be implemented. (No custom draft classes)

  1. Game Scheduling

Owners must contact their opponents via direct message in Discord with-in 24 hours of each advance. Recommendation is to contact your opponent PRIOR to advance.

  1.  De-syncs or disconnects

Game Disconnections: If the game is disconnected during the game and there is less than a 10 point differential, this is a restart. If the score is 10 points or more in the 1st and 2nd qtrs the owners need to restart and recreate the score, clock time and possession. If there is a DC in the 2nd qtr and the leading team is up by 7 points and has the ball inside their opponents 10 yard line and is also slated to get the ball after half time then the leading team has the option to recreate the game if they choose to do so.

Any disconnect in the 3rd or 4th quarter will result in a decision to be made by the winning party. If the owners are tied, the game can be replayed completely or a quarter played and the winner receiving a sim a win option from the commish. If an owner has a history of disconnecting when they are down, this will be reviewed by the commish to determine whether or not it is intentional and possible owner suspension will be enforced.

  1.  Streaming

Twitch is mandatory - All games, including games vs the CPU must be

recorded.Streams shall be on auto archive.

Twitch is the only streaming service allowed.

Away team shall stream unless mutual agreement is made between the users in writing before the start of the game that home team will stream. Default streamer is away team.  This is to ensure adequate SIM style is being played and film can be reviewed.

  1. Quitting

If a user quits during a game - they will be immediately removed from Pick Sticks CFM.

  1. Defensive Movement Pre-Snap

Only one player can be MANUALLY moved on defense pre-snap.

  1. Disciplinary Actions

Certain violations may warrant immediate removal from the league (majority commish ruling), but membership in this league should also be upheld by a Reputation Policy.

Any contemplated action (trade, disciplinary, Force Wins, etc) dealing with a commish, the commish can't be part of the deciding committee or have a vote in such action.

All disciplinary actions need majority commish ruling. All disciplinary actions get posted publicly stating offense and action taken. If a Player is blatantly disregarding the rules the commish group can remove them at their discretion, provided a group comish consensus is made.

The below guidelines will be used to determine appropriate league action to be taken, however, at group commish discretion, penalties may be more or less severe.

-1st offence: warning

-2nd offence: minimum 2 game suspension (specific team players or user themselves)

-3rd offence: minimum 3 game suspension (specific team players or user themselves)

-4th offence: User Booted

  1. Grievances

Filing a grievance with the commissioners must be done via PM to any commissioner with video or picture evidence supporting the claim. Any grievance brought up in general chat before a verdict is rendered shall not be considered. Excessive complaining in general chat after a verdict is rendered may result in further disciplinary actions.

  1. Playoff schedule

Playoff schedule shall be the same schedule as regular season.

**All rules are subject to change by majority rule of commish group if necessary**
